Mash-Ups, Covers, and Remixes often seem to rub people the wrong way. I like to think of them more as interpretations. Just take them for what they are. No one is going to make a Bob Marley song as well as Bob, but you can interpret it in a new way. So here are some covers and mash-ups that I have been into semi-lately.
1. Andrew Bird – Imitosis (Four Tet Remix)
2. Mos Dub – Johnny Too Beef (Mos Def and Bob Marley Mash-up)
3. Andrew Bird – Oh Sister (Ft. Nora O’Connor) Bob Dylan Cover
4. Lissie – Pursuit of Happiness (Kid Cudi Cover)
5. Mumford & Sons – Dance Dance Dance (Neil Young Cover)
6. Tortoise and Bonnie “Prince” Billy – Thunder Road (Bruce Springsteen Cover)
7. Norah Jones – Jesus Etc. (Wilco Cover)
8. B.O.B. – The Kids (ft Janelle Monae) Vampire Weekend Remix
9. The XX – You’ve Got the Love (Florence + The Machine Cover)
10. The Books + Jose Gonzalez – Cello Song (Nick Drake Cover)
11. Jonsi – Time to Pretend (MGMT Cover)
12. The Roots – Dear God 2.0 (ft. Monsters Of Folk)
13. Grizzly Bear – Knife (Girl Talk Mash-up)
14. The Antlers – VCR (The XX Cover)
15. Bob Marley – I Wanna Know Now (ft. MGMT) Kids Mash-up
16. Chiddy Bang – Day and Night (Remix)
