Architecture in Helsinki have been away for a long time. An eternity, in fact, in today’s microwave culture. The band’s last release was in 2007, but their new song “Contact High” reminds us why the Australian outfit was hella popular in the first place. The funky, twee synths, the playful male-female vocals, the gift for being earnest enough to be endearing.
Truthfully, “Contact High” sounds like it was ripped directly from the 1980′s, and if you listen I think you’ll have no choice but to agree. Its rhythm is infectious, its cuteness undeniable. Check it out.
Architecture in Helsinki’s first album in four years, Moment Bends, is out May 3 in the U.S.
