Love this song from the Los Angeles band Cold Showers. “I Don’t Mind” has bright guitar waves and a post-punk lyrical style that begs for the speakers to be turned up. And it has two things rarely found today: the ramp-up and the fade-out. It’s a self-contained highway of pleasure. It’s the A-side to the new Highlands EP. The opposing side is the joggy “Near Burn” that takes things a little closer to the dirt. The matching video for “I Don’t Mind”, directed by Brian Davila, is full of dark, elemental things. Not what I would have chosen for the clip. I would’ve had more blue sky blazing by.
