The Philadelphia psych-pop band Sun Airway are at it again – transporting listeners to an internal wonderland of thought. The landscape in their first new material since debut album Nocturne of Exploding Crystal Chandelier leads the listener down a familiar path. Director Ricardo Rivera (fellow son from the city of brotherly love) takes you into his sanctuary.
The song opens up looping samples of strings and keyboards with abrupt cuts and shifts in direction. The visual is spot on to where clips slowly piece together ghostly apparitions of lead singer Jon Barthmus wandering through an empty church. While a little less overt than previous sounds from Sun Airway, the song picks up the usual dreamy cadence once Barthmus’ soft musings begin.
