Alan Wilkis has been known around the blogosphere for awhile now as a talented remixer. His work with material from bands like Phantogram, Phoenix, Yeasayer and Film School earned him some acclaim for his ability to keep a song’s important elements intact while employing some pretty impressive tweaks. Wilkis begins unveiling another special project with a collaboration featuring a group whose album he co-produced, The KickDrums.
Wilkis has created a series of singles, remixes and videos working with, to name a few, White Hinterland, Childish Gambino and Lyrics Born. “Come And Go” is a glitched-out, slowed down debut from the series, which Wilkis has dubbed PRINTS. It should be pretty exciting stuff we’re exposed to in the near future judging by the roster of artists Wilkis has joined forces with for the project. Alex Fitts supplies the vocals from KickDrums, a duo originally from Cleveland who now reside in Brooklyn.
We’ll keep you posted on Wilkis’ future releases from PRINTS, but download “Come And Go” below!
