Natureboy is not a boy. It took me a while to figure that one out. Not because of her looks: she’s indeed a bonny lass, but rather because the vocals Sara Kermanshahi are ambiguously delivered: neither masculine nor feminine. And that lends a fantastically malleable characteristic to all of her lyrics and choruses; they could be about anyone or anything. They are yours to claim and interpret.
And for the first time in the United States, Natureboy’s self-titled debut is available through Bleek Records. Natureboy (stream-able here) has been making its exclusive rounds through Europe where fans have been gobbling show space up as fast as they can. Now’s about time for us to get to know her too. ”Pariah” is the second track from the debut record, able for a free download below.
And before you get antsy for more, Natureboy is already currently hard at work recording their sophmore album, The Sweep, the first single from which, will be released this coming February. So giddyup. Here’s a favorite track of mine.
