Dave & Marissa are a folk-Americana group out of Rochester, New York, and they are endorsed by Tympanogram, undoubtedly one of the best music blogs out there. The male-female vocal harmony here is something special, and it’s easy to appreciate these introspective lyrics when they’re backed by such a solid, earnest melody. “Hit Like Waves” is a B-side to Dave & Marissa’s forthcoming sophomore EP …Move On, and the song has some interesting little twists — an off-kilter chorus to bridge transition, for example — and its rough edges make it all the more inviting.
