If what Raccoon Village says in its press material is true, then all of its members are 19 years old, and they’ve only been together for about six months. That’s an impressive fact when you listen to the Swedish band’s two available songs, which have a serious Mumford & Sons vibe with plenty of lovely guitar and banjo picking, and soaring harmonies. There’s an unpolished feel here that’s rather charming, and it only makes “Price Of Your Heart” and “For The Sake” seem grittier and more genuine. Lead singer Joakim Panotti has a bit of gravel in his voice, but comes through clear as day when “Price of Your Heart” takes off around the 90-second mark. In short, there’s plenty to like about Raccoon Village, and it’s clear they’ve got potential to spare as well. Download both songs below!
