I’ll probably always be a sucker for the fun and energy of a catchy pop song. Cue Derry City, Northern Ireland’s The Wonder Villains as the latest evidence to prove that theory. “Ferrari” is the kind of track that can burrow its way into your brain and refuse to leave — it’s got some of that youthful energy that bands who write these kind of songs have to possess, which makes sense because they’re fresh out of high school. The Wonder Villains are two guys and two girls, and there’s a tiny bit of male-female vocal harmony here. The song is set for a February 19 release date on No Dancing Records and Third Bar, but it’s already gotten some airplay on Radio 1 and some other big stations overseas. The band will be playing in Austin as part of SXSW this year, as well. Cut loose and check out “Ferrari” below.
